Getaway has put together some Frequently Ask Questions to help you.

Q: Is Getaway on Grafton suitable for families?

A: Getaway on Grafton is perfect for couples and small adult groups & families. Getaway can provide baby cots (linen included) and highchairs for hire.

Q: Do you have lifts or elevators?

A: Sorry, we only have stairs. Most Deluxe apartments are either ground or first level, Townhouse apartments are mainly on 2nd level (2 flights of stairs) and they have internal stairs from the living area to the bedrooms. Superior apartments are 1st and 2nd levels – no ground floor.

Q: Are pets allowed?

A: Sorry, no pets are allowed at Getaway on Grafton holiday apartments.

Q: Is Getaway on Grafton Wheelchair friendly?

A: All the ground level apartments are easy access, however they are not designed with wheelchairs in mind, the showers are spacious and have room to place a chair inside. Please inquire at the time of booking for suitability prior to booking.

Q: Is there a secure car-park facility?

A: The Getaway on Grafton holiday apartment provide a secure car-park some with cover, some without. A security password is also issued at the time of registration to access the car-park. If you require a second car-park please notify the reception on check in to see if space is available. There is no extra charge for parking.

Q: Is there a restaurant at the Getaway on Grafton Apartments?

A: While Getaway does not have a restaurant, all apartments have been designed to be self catering with microwave, full size oven and hot plate. There is a BBQ and outdoor dining area by the pool.

Q: Is smoking allowed?

A: Smoking is not permitted inside apartments, ashtrays are provided on your balconies and by the BBQ. We ask you to refrain from smoking if people are dining. (balcony doors must be kept close to prevent smoke entering the building)

Q: Are there barbecue facilities?

A: We have a complimentary GAS BBQ by the pool with comfortable outdoor furniture for alfresco dining.

Q: How big is your pool & spa?

A: We have a 13 mtr saltwater chlorinated pool, shallow end at 1.2 m and the deep end 1.8m, the spa would sit 8 persons. The pool & spa is heated to around 30 degrees. The spa is not a hot tub and is the same temperature as the pool – summer and winter.

Q: Is the beach accessible? How far away is it?

A: The Cairns beach is not suitable for swimming, but the town has provided a wonderful 1000 person capacity lagoon for visitors and locals. The Northern Beaches have patrolled beach areas for swimming. Stinger suits are generally required during the stinger season for your own safety ( November to March)

Q: Which languages are spoken at the reception?

A: English

Q: Does reception accept credit cards?

A: Yes, we can take payments securely online at the time of booking or at reception by cash, eftpos or credit card (VISA, Mastercard & Amex)

Q: Is there a DVD player in the apartment?

A: Yes, all the holiday apartments have a DVD player, bring your favourites from home.

Q: Is it possible to connect to internet in my apartment?

A: All guests have WiFi (wireless access). This is FREE and available upon check-in. The signal is strongest between the buildings, however most apartments pick up the signal in the rooms. Unfortunately we do not supply technical support for your ipad/tablet phone etc.

Q: Do you supply a variety of bedding?

A: All linen, pillows, sheets and blankets are provided as part of your accommodation price. We have the facility to provide 4 single bedding in Deluxe and Townhouse apartment, or make them into 2 x Kings. The extra persons will have a foldaway along with an extra towel and toiletries.

Q: Do you supply pool towels?

A: Pool towels are available from reception for hire @ $2.50 per towel for the duration of your stay. 
If you choose to book your tours through our tour desk - we provide FREE pool towel hire for each person - conditions.

Q: Are there TV’s in the apartments? Are there international channels (satellite TV)?

A: Yes, all apartments have LCD televisions available. Local networks and the Foxtel movie and sports channels are complimentary, there are NO On-Demand videos via the TV. There are no special international channels. There are no TV’s in bedrooms.

Q: Does each apartment have a telephone that can dial directly outside?

A: All apartments are equipped with a telephone, external calls are automatically charged to your account.

Q: What kind of air conditioners do you use?

A: Our air conditioners are a mix of split systems and wall refrigerated air-conditioning. Air conditioners are located in the main living area and bedrooms of your holiday apartment. All doors and windows must be closed for the air conditioners to work effectively.

Q: Do the apartments have a balcony?

A: Yes, all the apartments have a balcony, the Townhouses have two. Please see our apartment descriptions for details.

Q: Do the apartments have hair dryers?

A: Yes, all the apartments have a wall mounted hair dryer in each bathroom.

Q: Do you have a daily service?

A: No, but we provide a linen change every 5th day (4 sleeps) or averaged out on the length of your stay. On arrival you have been provided with sachets of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, dish-washing liquid, dishwasher liquid/powder, dish cloth, toilet paper & spare for each toilet, conditioning shampoo, soap, tissue in each bathroom, laundry powder. If items are depleted during your stay, you can purchase more from reception or local supermarkets. If you require to have daily servicing (as you would get in a motel/hotel) we can provide this for an additional fee.

Q: What is provided in the apartments?

A: Linen, blankets, all your crockery and cutlery, saucepans, dishwasher, microwave, full size oven and glass hot plate, full size refrigerator, ironing board and iron, broom, dustpan, mop & bucket, (vacuum can be borrowed from reception) automatic washing machine and dryer, laundry trough. LCD TV, DVD, air conditioning, ceiling fans to all rooms, phone, WIFI code Hair dryer in each bathroom, outdoor setting on balcony.

Q: Do you have a restaurant?

A: While the Getaway on Grafton does not have a restaurant, all apartments have been designed to be self catering with microwave, full size oven and hot plate. There is a BBQ and outdoor dining area by the pool. Click HERE to see our Restaurant Review category in our BLOG

Q: Is there room service available?

A: There is an order in menu in your apartment, bringing to you from some of the finest restaurants around town.

Q: Is breakfast included in the price?

A: No, all apartments are self-contained, meaning you cater for yourself, by cooking or eating out.

Q: What time should I arrive at your holiday apartments?

A: Check-in time is from 2pm, so arriving 2pm is ideal. Please make arrangements with reception if arriving earlier or out of office hours. We can usually hold your luggage until your room is ready and advise you when your room is ready. Please check our Reception Hours prior to arrival. Early entry cannot be guaranteed and fees apply. We have a night safe for LATE or out of office hours arrivals. (eg: Saturdays & Sundays after 12 noon or 6pm weekdays)

Q: What is your reception hours?

A: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 12 noon (lunch) 2pm to 6pm. Saturday & Sunday 8:30am to 12 noon Public Holidays – closed, plenty of notification given. If you are due to arrive on a Public Holiday you will be contacted by email with a check in procedure, please check your emails or mobile phone prior to arrival.

Q: When is the departure time?

A: Checkout from your room is 10:00 am. If checking out prior to our office opening, please notify reception on check-in or the day before and use the drop box by the reception door for the return of your room keys etc. All accounts must be settled close of business the night before. If you are seeking a late Checkout – you must contact reception prior to departure day for availability. Fees apply – $20 per hour and subject to availability.

Q: Can I store luggage with you?

A: For out of hours arrivals / departures, on most occasions we can store your luggage free of charge, please check with reception for availability. For storage request during absent breaks from your accommodation ie: overnight stays on reef boats or a couple of days away for a Cooktown trip etc. Are subject to availability and at $25 per day storage ( max 4 pieced per $25)

Q: What if I need to shorten my stay, will I get a refund?

A: No, please see Terms and Conditions for all payment, cancellation, bond questions.

Q: My plane was cancelled, I am unable travel due to sickness/accident, cyclone, changed my mind etc: Can I get a refund or adjust my booking last minute?

A: No, we strongly advise that you take out travel insurance to cover against unforeseen events ie: cyclones, plane, sickness etc..

Q: Do you have a transfer service?

A: Sorry, we don't, but Cairns now has UBER and the Taxi from the airport is around $25
